What is the weather like in Bali?

Bali has a tropical climate appropriate to its proximity to the equator. Year round temperatures averaging 31 degrees Celsius or 86 degrees Fahrenheit, with very little temperature differences during the year.  High humidity can be expected during the Wet Season between mid December to end of February. The Dry Season (between the months of April - November) has the lowest humidity.
The Wet Season brings evening showers and sunny days with the most rain recorded between December - February.

We find Bali to be beautiful ALL YEAR AROUND, as with each month brings another gem in the form of lush hill sides, lavish ceremonies, or cloudless days.  Take your pick :-)

What is the best time of year to visit Bali?

This is one of our most frequent questions……and the most difficult to answer. Bali, as a whole, can experience quite a bit of rain during the months we mentioned above, but the Coral Coast of Bali (east coast) is the ARID side of the island. Villa Candi Mathari is right in the middle of the Coral Coast, so relatively dry compared to the rest of the island. We do get some NEEDED rain during December and January……most showers are in the evening, leaving mostly sunny days.  The balance of the year is quite sunny and dry…..perfect conditions to enjoy East Bali’s world renowned SCUBA DIVING. Bottom line: There’s no reason to avoid ANY month in East Bali.  Each month seems to have slight differences, all equally magnificent.

Are Children Allowed?

Of course children are allowed!  Although Villa Candi Matahari is not considered a "family" resort (no water slides, Disney characters, or swings), the staff LOVES children, and do their very best to make sure their stay is as magnificent as yours.

What form of payment do you accept?

We can accept bank transfer, cash (in US Dollar or Rupiah), or Credit Card with verification.

What form of currency does Bali use?

Bali uses the official currency of Indonesia. . . .the Rupiah.  Skip the airport exchange kiosks as they generally don't offer competitive rates.  Your driver (or staff) can suggest an approved currency exchange center (one properly vetted by Villa Candi Matahari) away from the high demand of the airport.  You can check the current exchange rate on the open market HERE. Credit cards are WIDELY accepted in the village, and in Bali in general, so no need to exchange too much.

What are the entrance requirements to enter Bali (Indonesia)?

A 30 day single entry visa is granted upon arrival to more than 60 nationalities incl. USA, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, South Korea, France, Spain, Holland and many more for a small fee, as part of Bali's Visa Waver Program*.  There is usually no problem to obtain a visa on arrival (VOA), but your passport must be valid for at least another 6 months.. You should have a return flight ticket (reservation printout), they rarely ever ask for it, but it could happen.

If you would like to be ahead of the game at the airport, here are a few online short cuts that may help expedite your arrival experience:

https://molina.imigrasi.go.id This website will provide your tourist visa and payment PRIOR to arrival. You can skip the Visa line by applying prior to arrival.

https://ecd.beacukai.go.id This is your CUSTOMS declaration that ALL passengers must fill out. This will save time as most airlines do NOT provide paper copies anymore

*Please check with your embassy or State Department for specific requirements your country may have, and to verify that your country is included in the Visa Waver Program.

Do you offer transportation from (to) the airport?

For a minimum stay, transportation is provided. . . . .but YES, this can be arranged.  Just make this request when booking your reservation.
